Meet Will, a 60-year-old man originally from Georgia who came to New Jersey 12 years ago in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. Will’s dream was simple—he wanted his golden years to be truly golden. For years, he worked a factory job that kept him busy and provided the stability he needed. But life has a way of throwing curveballs, and Will’s life took an unexpected turn.

A year ago, Will suffered a stroke leaving him struggling to get back on his feet. As if that wasn’t enough, Will had to resign from work due to his stroke, a devastating blow for someone who had built their life around the American dream. His health, finances, and dreams have all taken a hit, and now, in what should be his golden years, Will finds himself fighting just to make ends meet. Will has an amazing personality as you will see and he truly deserves to have his golden years be golden.

The reason we started $hobo is to give people like Will a voice and to show the human side of a lifestyle that society has deemed not so human. The end game for us here is to provide Will with an apartment paid in full for the next 12 months and some other well deserved milestones along the way.
