Altoid (ALTOID)

Ross Ulbricht and the alias “Altoid” are connected through evidence that was uncovered during the investigation into the Silk Road, the infamous online black market. Ross Ulbricht, the creator and operator of the Silk Road under the pseudonym “Dread Pirate Roberts,” inadvertently linked himself to the site in its early days via a series of online posts. The “Altoid” posts were one of the initial breadcrumbs that led authorities to uncover Ulbricht’s identity, eventually resulting in his arrest in 2013 and subsequent life sentence for running the Silk Road.
