AETA of Subic

A mountain once considered a paradise by the indigenous Aeta community in Subic, Zambales Philippines was reportedly turned into a dumpsite after tons of plastic waste were disposed of there in 2019 due to the lack of a proper waste disposal facility.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) investigated the incident in 2022 and, in 2025, issued a cease and desist order against the Subic local government. Despite the order, the garbage reportedly remains on the mountain.
I - Witness, led by veteran journalist Ms. Kara David braved and hiked to visit this once paradise turned to a dumpsite in their lates documentary.
