Path of Exile 2 just released their first league meaning that everything has been reset from characters to currency to skills, talents and maps. In addition, a huge amount of content/functionality has been changed, implemented and fixed as the game nears its full release. Elon has stated numerous times his excitement to play with the new changes and has just created a character to take on the league head-first.
