With 2.3 million followers on Instagram, Maru the Shiba, also known as Marutaro the japanese Shiba Inu and one of the most beloved dogs on the internet. From fan meetings to TV appearances, Maru wasn’t just famous, he was family to millions. His gentle face and joyful posts brought comfort after Japan’s 2011 earthquake and earned him the role of tourism ambassador. Though he passed away in early 2024 at age 16, $MARU lives on as a symbol of peace, pawsitivity, and the legacy of one very good boy.
