What is $EDOGE?

Devcon 5, held in Osaka, Japan from October 8–11, 2019, was the fifth official Ethereum Foundation conference. It brought together Ethereum developers, researchers, and community members from around the world.

Hidden in the Ethereum Foundation’s official Devcon 5 blog post was an image of Kabo-chan (Kabosu), the real-life Shiba Inu behind the Doge meme, wearing an Ethereum hat. To most, it was a fun easter egg — but to some, it was a signal.

That moment later inspired $EDOGE — the Ethereum version of Doge.

$EDOGE wasn’t created out of thin air. It’s rooted in a real Ethereum Foundation post from 2019. There are rumors that someone from the Foundation is quietly involved.

Now, with Ethereum’s resurgence in a new bull market, $EDOGE stands for what Doge never did — full alignment with Ethereum’s future. It’s more than a meme. It’s a symbol of Ethereum culture, community, and long-term belief in the chain.
