The B-1B Lancer is a long-range supersonic bomber used by the United States Air Force. It is designed to carry and release large numbers of bombs against ground targets during military operations. When the bomber reaches its target area, the bomb bay doors open and the aircraft drops precision-guided or conventional bombs toward the target below. These bombs fall due to gravity or are guided by GPS systems to strike accurately.

The B-1B can carry a very large weapons load—up to about 75,000 pounds of bombs and missiles inside its three bomb bays. It can deploy many types of weapons, including 500-pound or 2,000-pound bombs, cluster munitions, and modern GPS-guided JDAM bombs.
